Content Gathering

Before gathering content and photographs please read the section on Photography on The Spring:
This area covers:
  • Creative Content Brief requests
  • Guide to Collecting Case Studies
  • The Ethical Image Policy: - Capturing Images         - Using Images         - Consent Forms

Any external photographer should also be sent a copy of the Ethical Image policy and adhere to it.

Also please read the Case Study Style Guide which covers image captioning, interview reporting and case study style tips.
All external photographers must sign the WaterAid photographers’ contract.
Main points of the contract are to ensure that the photographer and WaterAid agree:
- that the photographs will be used and stored on WaterAid’s Asset Library (Asset Bank) for 5 years and then will be archived within Asset Bank.
- on the usage rights of the photographs. Normally the usage rights are that all the photographs can be used by WaterAid for any purpose and can be sent to third parties when talking about WaterAid or the WASH crisis.
Any questions on the above or to be sent a photographers contract please contact photos@wateraid.org
